LEUNIG ON SIMPLICITY

We simplify our lives.
We live gladly with less.
We let go the illusion that we can possess.
We create instead.
We let go the illusion of mobility.
We travel in stillness. We travel at home.
By candlelight and in stillness,
In the presence of flowers,
We make our pilgrimage.
We simplify our lives.
===Leunig

Welcome

The Gleaner should be regarded as an ongoing Opp Shop. Miss Eagle is a gleaner, divester, refurbisher, recycler, repurposer, rejigger. She has been involved in these activities for most of her long adult life.

Miss Eagle has - in the once upon a time - committed the sins of consumerism. Her goals are different now.

Miss Eagle's goal is simplicity - so you may find some thoughts on the topic scattered among the goods on offer.

My path to simplicity has been a spiritual journey which started fourteen years ago. So I don't recommend a rush along the path as you may note. You see, there is so much to learn and so much to experience.

The benefits are immense. You can use your money and assets for other things - more permanent pursuits. Less mess, less housekeeping. Leaving time for more creative and fulfilling pleasures.

And when you need to divest of something no longer needed, because you paid little and you have learned or will learn how to pass it on usefully and thoughtfully, there is no guilt.

So welcome to what I hope will be the fun and uplift of life with The Gleaner.
Testimony to Simplicity
